THE LION'S DEN
From the engine room, I heard a Fijian voice ask for 'Hahmen' and so I climbed out. It was Daniel. We've been praying for Daniel. Many of you have been praying for him recently. He's one of the guards here where we are basing the boat operation. Daniel wanted this next year to be different. If a person is serious then to me there is only one answer and it is obvious what the answer is and eventually I had the great privilege of personally introducing Daniel to the 'Galilean' Himself as he repeated after me the prayer of a sinner crying out to a Loving God. I didn't tell him that he was in trouble the minute he indicated any interest and we placed into motion a great army of people on their knees for his eternal soul. Things that matter happen when God's people pray.

A NEW THING
New years eve was hot...  very hot! We lay here on the boat awake unable to sleep because of the heat and because of the throbbing, unending sound of the partying and the drums from the villages behind us. This is now a new year, a new chapter, a new ministry, a new focus, a new thing. The Johnson's just landed back in Fiji this week from their furlough; what a great thing to welcome them back and look forward to what this new year holds together. If this year holds a fraction of what last year held, it will be incredible, and everything in me believes last year was just getting ready for this one. Pray for us as we systematically work through every detail of all forty three systems on board this vessel before trusting our lives to it and also as we stretch our JESUS Film team into becoming a great crew for the Galilean. The training of the new crew has gotten off to a good start and because safety is a top priority, the training will never end. Pray that we would have the wisdom to determine which upcoming day here we are prepared 'enough' with the vessel and with the crew to head for the horizon, which is our next goal.

JESUS
The JESUS Film team leader was desperately trying to catch up to wherever I was yesterday. It finally happened in the bank, down town. I could tell he was excited and wanted to share something with me, but just like the Africans, it would be such a waste to jump straight to the punchline. Not just me either, everyone around me there in the bank was patiently watching and listening to him lay the foundation of what he really wanted to say. Finally he started describing last night's JESUS Film showing - mostly what I could see of his face, was his teeth in a huge grin. Eventually I extricated the facts! Between eighty and ninety had come to see JESUS... and out of them, SIXTEEN had been weeping and sobbing as they prayed the sinners prayer and accepted the free gift of eternal life, purchased for THEM by a God who decided He would rather die on a cross than live without them! SIXTEEN!! This is what it is all about - keep up the prayers!
